The Penguins entered the NHL in the 1967-68 season. They got there names because they played there home games in "Igloo," which was the nickname for the Civic arena. The original logo was a penguin in front of a triangle, which signified the Golden Triangle in downtown Pittsburgh. In their first season they made an playoff appearance. The Pen's returned to the top of the league in 2009 and won the cup by beating the Redwings in 7 games. In the 2015-16 season they had 0 and 3 start but and the best season towards the end of the season. They made the Stanley Cup final by kicking the Rangers in 4-1, Capital in 4-2, Lightning in game 7, in the final they won game 1 (3-2), won game 2 (2-1 OT), lost game 3(3-2 OT), won game 4(3-1), game 5, game 6, game 7.
